Only the permanent sign types listed in Table 155.699 may be erected. Examples: a shopping center monument sign is capped at 48 square feet (a second at 48 square feet is allowed if the center fronts two main thoroughfares or has 1,500+ linear feet of frontage, with a possible third monument sign under those same conditions); a subdivision entrance sign is capped at 32 square feet and 15 feet above grade; a nameplate/identification sign is capped at 3 square feet; supergraphics are capped at 25 percent of the primary building face area. Temporary signs are governed separately at LDC 155.6101-155.6102, and a permit is required for most sign types subject to the exemptions at LDC 155.6105-155.6106.
