Home occupations require a zoning permit. The dwelling or accessory building may not be altered, finished, or decorated externally in a way that lets it be reasonably recognized as a place where a home occupation is conducted. A home occupation may not occupy more than one-quarter of the total floor area of the principal building and any accessory building on the lot. No sign visible from the street may advertise the home occupation (except approved live/work units in MU districts). Storage related to the home occupation must stay inside the dwelling or accessory building, with no hazardous materials storage. The home occupation may not generate more than 5 additional daily trips on average per work-week (deliveries/drop-offs included), may not require additional off-street parking, and may not reduce the number of covered parking spaces required in the district. No equipment or process may create noise, vibration, glare, fumes, odor, or detectable electrical interference off the premises, and no motor or combination of motors over one horsepower combined capacity may be used.
