A home occupation is permitted as an accessory use to a principal dwelling in any residential or mixed-use zoning district. The business must stay inside the dwelling or a permitted accessory building, capped at 20 percent of combined floor area or 500 square feet, whichever is less. The operator must reside on the premises, and no more than one non-resident employee is allowed. No more than two vehicles connected to the business, and no more than two off-street parking spaces beyond what the dwelling itself requires. No more than one business caller at a time and no more than two visitors per hour; no outdoor display or storage; no wholesale or retail sales on the premises; and the street address cannot be advertised. A list of specifically prohibited home occupations includes auto repair, vehicle painting, motor vehicle towing, welding shops, dental and medical offices, private schools, multi-chair barber or beauty shops, nursing homes, and instruction or day care above stated headcounts.
